2005-07-25 [Rondel]: I tend to lean toward aloe, not that this information is timely... ...also, black tea is really good. Buy the cheap teabags, and brew it strong -- then use the tea as a poultice, and the teabags themselves can be placed directly on the worst bits. It's the tannins that help. Looks silly, but most folks have access to it. Like all burns, avoid butter, or any oily product. Baking soda dissolved in water may help, too, and of course cooling the area (which can be done with either the aloe juice or the cold tea compresses). My turn -- anyone know what to do for chemical burns/skin ulcers caused by a sensitive person exuding a chemical toxin out through their skin, after an exposure? :(

2005-07-25 [Rondel]: Failing all else, healing energy directed toward my husband ([BarleySinger]) would be gratefully welcomed. I don't normally ask, but this is bad stuff, folks, and the doctors are scared he'll react badly to the further chemical exposures involved in a hospital visit. We've been using peroxide, tea tree oil (melaleuca), manuka honey (UMF 10), and bandages, but the worst one's pretty edematous -- they look like "road rash" from a motorcycle accident where someoene wasn't wearing their leathers. I've got pics online, if anyone wants to see something that also works as an appetite surpressant... :( ...anyway, positive energy request made, we now return you to the existing thread. *worries*

2005-07-26 [Rondel]: A) Thank you all. These things are scary looking, and while the smaller ones (where the toxin was only being shoved out through *ONE* pore) seem to be healing, the big one (which lost the skin over an area the size of two of my fingers put together, and blistered over a larger area than that, is taking its own sweet time, and still weeping weird black stuff. Whatever the heck this exposure was, it must have been bad for his body to reject it this way, trying to shove it straight out through his skin like this. I hate Environmental Illness. Before this, I thought it was bad when my entire fingerprint blistered up and fell off from touching newsprint, or inhalants made me stop breathing -

2005-07-26 [Rondel]: not while his/our health is so unstable. It's taken us 6 years just to find the doctors we now have, a GP who'll take us seriously and not try to push treatments on us that our bodies won't tolerate, and now at last a pain/MCS specialist who does actual bloodwork, and knows what to look for, and who to trust to get useful results on the tests. We *REALLY* don't want to lose this guy, we've just found him, and just started to come closer to getting my husband's pain managed -- and maybe even get mine controlled to the point where I can actually be active (like, leave the daybed where I spend my days -- something which we'd briefly achieved, before things took the last downward turn). {HUGS}

2005-07-28 [Rondel]: Actually, we're both seriously ill and disabled, but having all of the epidermal layers of skin falling off parts of his body as it forced inhaled toxins out through the pores was a bit shocking, even for us, and was what motivated my request for help and healing energy -- for which we are grateful, from ALL of you who have offered/sent it our direction. Pardon me if I'm a little less chipper than usual -- we just got back from our 3-hour-round-trip drive to and from the doctor's office, to get our latest monthly installment of the medicines that keep us alive (and, incidentally, able to care for our 8-year-old child, who is without friends or family on this continent, as we are, as well).

2005-07-28 [Rondel]: The housing issue is a need not only for housing near our doctors, but also that the housing be housing in which we can actually survive without losing our last shreds of health. That means (for those who find details useful focal points) no carpets (I stop breathing around dust & cleaning chemicals), plumbed rain/bore water (chlorinated tap water gives me chemical burns, makes me suicidal, & gives both adults severe migraines), & away from major pollution sources (such as city smog &/or agricultural chemicals). And yeah, it's all kind of horrifying & overwhelming & that's why it's not discussed in detail on our House pages here -- we'd rather not be such "downers" that nobody talks to us.

Throwing in a "may their family survive and flourish as a family unit, unbroken by illness or loss of any member" would be welcomed, too.

2005-07-30 [Rondel]: Honestly, I think the reason I came here to ask for "help" on the whole healing/housing issue was because I knew that the folks here take their religion seriously enough that we aren't just going to be another excuse for a bunch of kids to play at magical power trips. I think that's probably part of what made this place acquire some of that community feeling -- people don't stay here if they aren't willing to go through the self-examination that says "is she talking about me?", and as a result, you get a more "grounded" group of people than y'r average open-to-the-public online pagan forum.
